NEW DELHI: Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva on Sunday claimed that chief Arvind Kejriwal , who was vocal on the day actor Saif Ali Khan was attacked, went "silent" upon learning that the attacker was a Bangladeshi citizen . "BJP has been saying from day one that Rohingya and Bangladeshis pose a security threat, not just to Delhi but to the entire country. However, Arvind Kejriwal provides them shelter in Delhi," he alleged.

Hitting back, AAP spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar posted on X, "Modi and Amit Shah should apologise to Saif Ali Khan and his family. Due to their failures, Bangladeshi infiltrators have come to different parts of the country in the last 10 years… Modi ji was a total failure in protecting the country."

Khan was attacked at his apartment in a residential society in the upscale Bandra area of Mumbai, India's financial capital and the home of the Hindi film industry, in the early hours of Jan 15. Soon after the incident, Kejriwal attacked BJP govt, stating that when such a big actor, living in what we assume to be a very secure place, can have people breaking into his house and attacking him, it which raises serious questions about the state and central govt.

"Kejriwal sought sympathy from the media by claiming that Saif is a national treasure and the incident was shameful. However, after it came to light that the attacker is a Bangladeshi citizen, Kejriwal has chosen to remain silent, raising questions about why this has happened," Sachdeva claimed. "He showed deep concern after Saif Ali Khan was attacked, and now has a responsibility to condemn the Bangladeshi individual involved in the attack," he said.

He alleged that AAP functionaries were involved in creating illegal Aadhaar cards and fake voter IDs for the community in Delhi.
