Nobody can work out where elephant's legs are in optical illusion for kids
A rather confusing optical illusion is baffling people, yet the answer is simple. A picture of an elephant, facing the left, has stumped people after the optical illusion asks people to work out how many legs it has.
While in any instance the answer should be four - the picture makes it look like there are at least five, and it's not clear how the answer could be anything else but five. But that's not correct.
The picture, made up of black and grey lines, makes it almost impossible to work out - and what's more humiliating, is that this optical illusion is designed for children by Optics4Kids.
Many are counting five by citing two legs at the back, one in the middle, and another two where they should be - at the front of the elephant. The leg next to the elephant's trunk looks like it could be false, but the image doesn't give much away. It could also be a leg from another elephant not clearly depicted in the image.
Are you struggling to make sense of it all? If so, scroll down for the answer.
The answer is as obvious as we all thought - it's four! But, what's more frustrating is the website does not elaborate on how there are just four legs in the picture.
Optical illusions are a great exercise for the brain, and use colour, light and patterns to create images that can be deceptive or misleading to our brains. But with a bit of focus and a sharp mind, we can often overcome them relatively quickly.
