Son Heung-min's telling Yang Min-hyeok response as Ange Postecoglou plans Tottenham future
Son Heung-min is reluctant to pile the pressure on new Tottenham signing Yang Min-hyeok going into the second half of the 2024/25 campaign. Confirming a deal for the highly-rated South Korean at the end of July, Spurs announced at the time that the teenager would make the move to north London in January.
, with Spurs able to register him as a player from January 1st. Very much a key period for the starlet as he has time to adapt to his new surroundings and also get to know his new teammates before the turn of the year, is going to be a key figure in development over the coming months.
"Yeah, I'll try my best," he said in an interview with . "Obviously some situations he will have to handle by himself as I can't help him like I'm his dad. But I am going to try to help him both on and off the pitch.

"I hope he can bring some great football and great talent to the club so I can't wait to see him playing with us."
Son was then asked to detail what exactly the 18-year-old can bring to side in the years ahead. In the true mark of a captain, as he has already seen a number of young players try to cope with sky-high expectations fans have put on them.
"I don't want to give him too big pressure as he's 18," he admitted. "Nowadays I think people are getting excited too early about a player so I want to keep him very quiet.
"He works hard, I hope he works hard, and he can help the team which is very important. Obviously he's fast, he's scored a lot of goals in the K League but there is a massive difference between the K League and Premier League."
, Postecoglou opened up on Yang's first few days at the club when asked by football.london .
"Yeah he has been in the building the last couple of days sort of having a good look around," explained the 59-year-old. "Obviously we can't register him until January 1st so he won't train with us but I always feel it's good. I had this experience at Celtic with the Asian lads we brought in, the Japanese and Korean boys, bringing them in before Christmas which allows them to settle in, especially off the field.
"That way by the time we get to register them in a couple of weeks they are already settled and can train fully. It's good to see him around. He has been doing some English lessons which is great, he's already sort of conversing and it's great to have him in the building."
