After this last date, you will have to pay some additional fees to get Aadhaar details updated. That is, if you miss it, then you may have to suffer some loss. Keep in mind that this free service is available only on the myAadhaar portal.
UIDAI posted on X
A post was shared by UIDAI on X regarding this. In this post it was written- 'UIDAI has extended the facility of free online document upload till 14 June 2025, so that lakhs of Aadhaar number holders can benefit. This free service is available on myAadhaar portal. UIDAI is constantly encouraging people to keep their documents updated in Aadhaar.'
The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has encouraged citizens to review their Aadhaar card information. Especially those who received their Aadhaar card more than 10 years ago and who have not done any updates till now. However, these updates are not mandatory.
Aadhaar is a unique number and no resident can get more than one Aadhaar number, as it is linked to their biometrics. This helps identify fake and fraudulent identities, which cause leakage problems nowadays. The savings that are made by eliminating fake and duplicates through Aadhaar-based identification will enable governments to provide benefits to other eligible residents.
According to the Aadhaar Enrolment and Update Regulations, 2016, “An Aadhaar number holder has the right to update his/her documents or information at least once at the end of every 10 years from the date of generation of Aadhaar number received by him/her, by applying for updating the proof of identity and address.”
