Ahead of sequel The Platform 2's release on Netflix, here's a recap of all the things that happened in the original Spanish science-fiction, psychological-thriller movie, The Platform, that came out in 2020. The movie still has a fanbase that eagerly awaits Part 2.

The Platform recap

The basic storyline of The Platform revolves around a prison with hundreds of floors. The film shows how in a prison, people are placed on different floors and how they fight to survive there. Wondering what the survival is for? It is for food that to for the entire day. There are different levels in the prison shown. Level 1 is the floor where the prisoners can access a feast of different food items. The ones who suffer for food are the ones who are placed on the other levels, as they get only the leftovers.

The Platform ending explained

Last time, the makers left the movie very open-ended, which led to many theories among the audiences.

What was clear with the last scenes was that Goreng and Baharat were seen going to the lowest level of the prison, where they see a girl. Both the main characters decide to send the little girl to the upper level—to send a message to the people up there. The movie ended while giving a message that change is possible if there is unity.

The Platform 2 is arriving on Netflix in October with a new update to the prison story. Let's see if the upcoming part will be able to impress the audience just the way The Platform did in 2020 or not.
