India Gears Up For 2036 Olympics: Union Minister For Sports & Youth Affairs Mansukh Mandaviya Unveils Fit India Club In MP (WATCH)
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Union Minister for sports and youth affairs Mansukh Mandaviya said that a robust action plan has been prepared to boost the sports environment in the country and prepare India to host the 2036 Olympics. He was addressing a gathering at the launch of Madhya Pradesh’s first Fit India Club program.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav also attended the event. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has declared that we will host the 2036 Olympics. He has emphasized that India must achieve top-10 rankings in international sports events in the next 10 years,” Mandaviya said.
He further said that “When the Country celebrates its centenary year of Independence, we aim to improve our global ranking and secure a spot on 1 to 5 scale. The talented players are being identified and nurtured by organising Khelo India School Games for students aged 9 to 15.” The Union minister stated that sports infrastructure is being developed to elevate India’s position in world sports rankings by 2036, with a focus on engaging the nation’s young talent.
On the occasion, Mandaviya and CM Yadav unveiled kits for players from Madhya Pradesh participating in the upcoming National Games in Uttarakhand. They also launched the ‘Khelo Badho Abhiyan’ in the state and inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of several sports infrastructure projects.
Yadav in his address reiterated Madhya Pradesh government’s commitment to youth’s welfare. Fit India Club follows the Fit India theme of physical, mental and spiritual development of players of every class and age, he added.
