Team India pacer Prasidh Krishna confirmed that their attack leader Jasprit Bumrah has a back spasm, causing him to go off the ground for scans on day two of the fifth Test against Australia in Sydney. The right-arm pacer revealed that the medical team is monitoring him but didn't confirm if Bumrah will be fit to bowl in the fourth innings.

In a video surfaced on social media, Bumrah was seen going off in his training gear, whisked out in a car after lunch on day two, leaving Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna and Nitish Kumar Reddy to handle the workload. Nevertheless, he returned to the SCG in some time.

During the presser after day two in Sydney, Krishna stated in a video posted by CODE Sports:

"Yes, he had a back spasm. He had gone for scans. The medical team is monitoring him and we will know more when they get back to us."

Jasprit Bumrah finished with two wickets in the first innings in Sydney

Meanwhile, the 31-year-old pace spearhead finished with two wickets in Australia's first dig at the SCG, dismissing Usman Khawaja and Marnus Labuschagne. Despite Bumrah's absence from the post-lunch session, the tourists managed to eke out a four-run lead after managing only 185 in their first innings. Krishna and Siraj finished with three scalps each.

Nevertheless, the home side roared back by taking six Indian wickets, but the tourists' lead had surged to 145 by Stumps. Rishabh Pant's swashbuckling 61 off 33 balls could prove to be a match-winning knock for the Indian team.
