Paytm Shares In Focus; Net Loss Shrinks To ₹208 Crore In Q3 FY25
Digital payment services provider Paytm's parent, One 97 communication's shares were trading high after Paytm declared Q3 financials showing a narrowing net loss to Rs 208 crore from Rs 220 crore.
The shares one 97 communication; parent company of Paytm went on to touch the day high level of Rs 920.00 per share on the exchanges after hitting the opening bell at Rs 901.00 per share on the dalal street.
Paytm's parent One 97 communication shares were trading around Rs 894.00 per share on the exchanges, in last trading session with a 0.68 per cent decline amounting to a Rs 6.15 per share.

Q3 FY25 Revenue and net profit
The company's Q2 FY25 consolidated net profit was Rs 928.3 crore. In the quarter ending December 31, 2024, revenue from operations climbed 10.14 per cent on a quarter-over-quarter (QoQ) basis, but it decreased 35.88 per cent on a year-over-year (YoY) basis to Rs 1,827.8 crore.
Payment and financial services
Payments & Financial Services saw a 34 per cent year-over-year decline in revenue, reaching Rs 1,505 crore. Payment Services' revenue was Rs 1,003 crore, down 40 per cent year over year.
Financial Services and Others' revenue was Rs 502 crore, down 17 per cent year over year; and Marketing Services' revenue was Rs 267 crore, down 48 per cent year over year.
Prior to ESOP, EBITDA was Rs -41 crore, which was 145 crore more than in Q2 of FY 2025. This was because of higher revenues and contribution profit as well as lower indirect costs.

Paytms stated that lower ESOP costs were the reason for an 181 crore QoQ improvement in EBITDA. Going forward, it anticipates a significant decrease in ESOP costs (a detailed schedule of future ESOP costs is provided later).
In Q3 of FY 2024, the holiday season contributed to a 13 per cent QoQ increase in gross merchandise value (GMV). The expected payment processing margin for the year is between 5 and 6 basis points (including UPI incentives), and it was comfortably above the guided margin of 3 basis points in this quarter.
