Playboy model accused of treason for reaction to Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk fight

Playboy model and TV presenter Victoria Bonya has sparked anger in her homeland of after congratulating for his win over .

Usyk and Fury went toe-to-toe for a second time earlier this month. The Ukrainian got his hand raised back in May, . The 'Gypsy King' was looking to avoid suffering back-to-back defeats for the first time in his professional career.

The British star started the clash well and had great success with the shots to the body. However, at around the midway point of the heavyweight dust-up, Usyk started to pick up momentum and eventually ran away with the fight .

While many have been quick to praise Usyk for his win in Riyadh, Bonya is facing calls for a treason inquiry after she congratulated the Ukrainian. The 45-year-old, who has 11million followers on , posted a photo ringside of herself holding Usyk's belt and admiring it.

Following the gripping sequel at the Kingdom Arena in Saudi Arabia, Bonya wrote online after the clash: "A decent fight, Usyk defended his belt, it is worthy of respect!" However, her post hasn't gone down with several social media users in Russia - who are reported to be preparing a case against her in an appeal for action from Moscow prosecutors.

According to the Telegram news channel SHOT, the model is being accused of supporting and financing the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Bonya has protested her innocence but quickly deleted her post from the fight.

"I got a bunch of calls and comments. I want to immediately outline my position," she wrote. "Friends, I have lived in Europe for 12 years, I go to the mountains and stretch the Russian flag there. I have only one citizenship."

Bonya added: “However difficult it is for me – and it is not easy, even when I go to Cannes and get a mass of trouble – I support my country and support my president. So don’t tell me now that I have betrayed my country. I only support my country. If you want to mix it in the mud, then you will not succeed.”
