Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address a mega rally in Doda district, Jammu and Kashmir, on Saturday.

This visit marks the first time a prime minister has visited Doda in 42 years.

The last prime ministerial visit was in 1982, according to Union Coal and Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy.

To ensure a secure election rally at the stadium in Doda town, multi-tier security has been set up across the twin districts of Doda and Kishtwar.

In addition to his visit to J&K, PM Modi is also scheduled to address a rally at Kurukshetra's Theme Park in Haryana.

This will be his first rally for the Haryana Assembly Elections, with the BJP aiming for a third term in the state.

Strict security measures have also been implemented around the venue for Modi's rally.

Senior police officers visited the site on Friday to review security arrangements.


BJP vies for all 43 seats in Jammu division

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is contesting all 43 seats in the Jammu division for the upcoming 2024 Assembly Elections.

The elections will be conducted in three phases on September 18, September 25, and October 1, with vote counting scheduled for October 8.

This marks the first Assembly election in J&K in a decade and the first since the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A.

Whereas the Haryana Assembly Elections are scheduled to take place on October 5, with vote counting set for October 8, 2024.

On Friday, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini urged the public to attend the rally in large numbers and emphasized that the "lotus" will bloom for a third time in the state.

Haryana is likely to see a bilateral contest, with the Bhupinder Singh Hooda-led Congress attempting to reclaim power in the agriculture-dominated state after 10 years.
