The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has dismissed Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's announcement of his resignation in two days as a "PR stunt."

BJP national spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari suggested that Kejriwal is attempting to restore his image due to perceived corruption.

"This is a PR stunt of Arvind Kejriwal...today Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is known across the country as a corrupt party," Bhandari told ANI.

Another BJP leader, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, suggested that Kejriwal's decision to resign was not voluntary but a result of bail conditions imposed by the Supreme Court.

"Arvind Kejriwal has announced that he will resign after two days and become the CM again when he gets a verdict from the people... This is not a sacrifice, the Supreme Court has said in the order that he cannot go near the CM's chair and cannot sign any files," Sirsa told ANI.

Kejriwal announced his decision to resign as Delhi CM within two days during a public gathering.

He also demanded early elections in Delhi and pledged not to resume his position until receiving a "certificate of honesty" from the people.

"I am going to resign from the CM position after two days... I will go to every house and street and not sit on the CM chair till I get a verdict from the people," Kejriwal said.

Kejriwal's release from jail and bail conditions

Kejriwal was released from Tihar Jail on Friday after nearly six months of incarceration, following the Supreme Court's decision to grant him bail in corruption and money laundering cases linked to the alleged Delhi excise policy scam.

However, his release came with specific conditions.

Kejriwal is prohibited from making any public statements regarding the merits of the case.

He must attend all trial court sessions, and he is not permitted to visit his office or the Delhi Secretariat.
