India shines in World Wrestling Championship, wins 4 gold medals, a girl from Vinesh Phogat's village also did wonders

Many Indian wrestlers missed out on medals despite their brilliant performance in the Paris Olympics. Vinesh Phogat's disqualification was a big setback for India. After defeating world number one wrestler Yui Susaki in the quarter-finals, she was considered a contender for the gold medal. However, Indian wrestlers have made up for the loss of the Paris Olympics in the Under-17 World Wrestling Championship. The brilliance of India's women wrestlers was seen in this event held in Jordan. 4 wrestlers won and brought glory to the country by winning gold medals. During this, a special connection with Vinesh Phogat was also seen.

On Thursday, 22nd August, the final match of the Under-17 World Wrestling Championship was played in Amman, the capital of Jordan. India's dominance was seen during this. Four female wrestlers Aditi Kumari, Neha Sangwan, Mansi, and Pulkit won gold medals in different categories. Aditi won the first gold for India. She defeated Greek wrestler Maria Luiza 7-0 in a one-sided match.

Vinesh Phogat's village wrestler Neha Sangwan won the final match in the 57 kg weight category by 10-0. Apart from this, Pulkit won gold in the 65 kg weight category by 6-3 and Mansi won gold in the 73 kg weight category. Before this, Sainath Pardhi won a bronze medal in the 51 kg weight category and Ronak Dahiya won a bronze medal in the 110 kg weight category. With this, India has a total of 6 medals.

A feat similar to the Paris Olympics was also achieved in Amman. Neha Sangwan, a resident of Vinesh Phogat's village Balali, performed like her in the World Wrestling Championship. 17-year-old Neha defeated Japan's So Susutsi 10-0. Before this, Vinesh had defeated Japan's world number 1 wrestler Yui Susaki in the quarter-finals of the Olympics. Let us tell you that Neha had praised Vinesh's performance and called her a champion despite being disqualified.

India has already won 4 gold medals. There is still hope for 2 more. After winning the thrilling semi-final match, Kajal in the 69 kg weight category and Shrutika Patil in the 46 kg weight category have made it to the finals. They will compete for the gold medal on Friday, 23 August.
