Patna: The case of a meeting of lovers in the Jamui district of Bihar is in discussion. In this incident that happened in the Sadar police station area, a couple had to pay a heavy price for meeting secretly in the dark of the night. The villagers got a clue of this and caught both of them. After this, with mutual consent, both the families got married in the local temple according to Hindu customs.
According to the information, Umashankar, son of Kanhaiya Mandal, resident of Pradhanchak of Khaira block and Shivani Kumari, daughter of Uday Mandal, resident of Lakhanpur, were in a love relationship for two and a half years. Umashankar often used to visit his relatives in Lakhanpur and nearby villages, where he met Shivani. Gradually, the relationship between the two deepened and they vowed to stay together for life.
On the night of the incident, Umashankar quietly reached Lakhanpur village to meet his girlfriend Shivani. The villagers got wind of their meeting and caught them on the spot. After this, the villagers called the families of both. The villagers and the families discussed the matter and decided to get them married with mutual consent. After this, their marriage was solemnized in a nearby temple as per Hindu customs. Both the lovers are said to be adults.
During this time Umashankar said, "I have relatives in Lakhanpur, where I often visit. It was here that I met Shivani and slowly our love blossomed. Shivani had called me to meet her, so I came to the village. The villagers caught us and then got us married." This marriage has now become a topic of discussion in the area.
