NEW DELHI: In a meaningful gesture of appreciation, the 'Kendriya Grihmantri Dakshata Padak' has been awarded to 463 personnel from various states, Union Territories, Central Armed Police Forces, and Central Police Organizations for 2024. This prestigious award recognizes exceptional service and dedication, aiming to foster high professional standards and enhance the morale of those awarded.
The medal celebrates excellence in four critical areas: special operations, investigation, intelligence, and forensic science. Instituted under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and guided by Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah, the award seeks to uplift the morale of police personnel across the country.
The 'Kendriya Grihmantri Dakshata Padak,' formalized by the Ministry of Home Affairs on February 1, 2024, is presented to members of police forces, security organizations, intelligence branches, and forensic experts from both central and state-level organizations. Eligible recipients include personnel from National Security Guard (NSG), Assam Rifles, Central Police Organizations, and forensic departments across India.
Earlier this year, the central government combined several previous awards into the 'Kendriya Grihmantri Dakshata Padak,' including the Union Home Minister's Special Operation Medal, Medal for Excellence in Investigation, Asadharan Aasuchana Kushalata Padak, and Awards for Meritorious Service in Forensic Science. This unified award is now announced annually on October 31, commemorating the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
