Well, as always the rankings have not been much pleasing to all. In July this year, the online platform released the list of 100 best dishes of the world. There too, India's only four dishes made a place among the Top 50. As of yesterday's rankings, it again didn't go well with the users. the comments section had numerous remarks that asked, "Why?" Before talking about the why, let us have a look at the Top 10 cuisines as mentioned in the post -

Greece Italy Mexico Spain Portugal Turkiye Indonesia France Japan China

Greece which bagged the top spot, blends the food with yoghurt and cheese. It's staple food has olives, wine and certain varieties of meat and bread. Moreover, it is a favorite among vegetarians and vegans alike, for dishes that are plant based. The Italian cuisine is a mediterranean one, best known worlwide for its gastronomies. The third best Mexico has rich spices, fresh ingredients, and a cuisine that goes long back. This is all about the top three. About India, it is the rendition of spices and flavors. It made special mention of Hyderabadi Biryani, Chicken, Keema and Amritsari Kulcha. The other categories where India garnered it's rank were -

Mumbai - Best food city in the world Punjab - Best food region in the world Best vegetable dishes category - Malai Kofta and Misal Pav at first and second spot respectively Amritsari Kulcha and Garlic Naan - Best breads at number 2 and 3 In the category of stews - Curry at second place Top 100 restaurants - Amrik Sukhdev in Murthal and Pabba's in Managluru

Other cities to feature were Hyderabad, Kolkata and Delhi among the best food cities in the world. The list was calculated based on a crowdsourced data that had 477,287 valid ratings for the 15,748 foods in the database. The top 100 cuisines had the highest average scores. But for the rest, we can see the debate online. Someone asked, "USA?" While clearly he wondered USA on 13th. A debate on how Greek food topped the list. Users even went on to question the authenticity of the list. A user took to mention how Indian food is more than simply dal roti. How India could not make it to the Top 10 even? As always, opinions are many. What matters is how the public reviews are taken. Are people really open to the acceptance of opinions? Taste Atlas was questioned about its reviews back in 2022, when it replied that its based on the 15000 dishes in its database which is open to vote throughout the year.
