Tore Nails, Tortured & Assaulted: Delhi Man Beaten To Death After Being Caught With Another Person's Wife

New Delhi: A 21-year-old man was beaten to death after being caught with another man's wife in Delhi's Shastri Park area, police said on Monday. The accused, identified as Ajmat, was apprehended by the police following the incident.The tragic events unfolded on Monday morning when Ritik Verma, the victim, was found in a compromising situation with the accused's wife. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northeast) Rakesh Paweriya, when Ajmat returned home and discovered the two together, he became enraged and brutally beat both Ritik and his wife.Ritik, who was the only son of his parents and worked as a tempo driver, suffered severe injuries. His uncle, Bunty, stated that the accused had beaten Ritik brutally, even tearing out his nails and torturing him, leaving injuries all over his body. A neighbour said that the accused had assaulted both Ritik and the woman.After being injured, Ritik was initially taken to Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital and later referred to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital. At the time, Ritik was unable to provide a statement due to his condition. At around 9 pm, the Shastri Park police station was informed that Ritik had succumbed to his injuries.The motive behind the murder, according to the police, appears to be 'revenge'. Subsequently, sections of 103 (1) Bharat Nyay Sanhita were added to the case registered at Shastri Park police station, and the probe has been initiated, the police said.Further investigations are underway.(With agency inputs)
