PM Narendra Modi likely to visit Maha Kumbh Mela on February 5

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to attend the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 on February 5, according to sources.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to attend the mela on January 27, while Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar will join the festivities on February 1.

During his visit on January 27, Home Minister Amit Shah's itinerary includes taking a holy dip at the Sangam, performing Ganga Puja, and holding meetings with officials.

In preparation for his arrival, security forces have heightened vigilance, implementing special monitoring at key junctions and event locations across the city.

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar will visit the Sangam for a holy dip on February 1.

Additionally, President Droupadi Murmu plans to visit Prayagraj on February 10 and participate in significant city events. Officials are bolstering administrative and security measures to ensure these dignitaries' visits proceed without incident.

Today, despite thick fog blanketing the area, devoted pilgrims continued to gather at the Maha Kumbh Mela, undeterred by the adverse weather conditions.

Pilgrim numbers are anticipated to rise during the four upcoming Shahi Snans. The Maha Kumbh Mela, which commenced on January 13, will continue until February 26.

Notable bathing dates include January 29 (Mauni Amavasya - Second Shahi Snan), February 3 (Basant Panchami - Third Shahi Snan), February 12 (Maghi Purnima), and February 26 (Maha Shivaratri).
