Security guard's phone snatched in Gautam Nagar
Bhopal: A 45-year-old woman, who works as a security guard at Hamidia Hospital, was allegedly targeted by two bike-borne snatchers in the Gautam Nagar area on Sunday night. They snatched her mobile phone and fled. The incident occurred as she was on her way to report for duty. Acting on the complaint, Gautam Nagar police registered a snatching case against unidentified accused and started investigations.
Gautam Nagar police said that the complainant, Anita Rajak, 45, wife of Sukhram Rajak, a resident of Nishatpura, was heading towards Hamidia Hospital around 9 PM for duty. As she reached the Prem Nagar under-bridge area, where she intended to board an auto-rickshaw, two men on a motorcycle approached from behind. One of them swiftly snatched her mobile phone from her hand and fled the scene before she could react.
Anita raised an alarm, alerting nearby people, but the accused had already escaped. She later filed a complaint at the Gautam Nagar police station.
Sub-Inspector Babuji Mathur stated that due to the darkness and the panic of the moment, the woman could not note the registration number of the bike, nor could she provide a detailed description of the suspects.
Police are currently scanning CCTV footage from the crime scene and surrounding areas to identify the accused. A case on charges of snatching was registered, and an investigation is underway.
