Bike rider dies after falling into well

T'puram: A 45-year-old man was killed in a freak accident on Tuesday night, after he lost control of his bike and fell into a well at Kallara. The incident took place around 10pm, however his body was spotted by local residents on Wednesday morning. The deceased has been identified as Sanju from Neerumankadavu, Kallara.

Police have registered a case in connection with the incident. According to police, the residents spotted a bike lying near the unused well on Wednesday morning, and during further inspection, Sanju's body was found in the well. They immediately informed the police.

The well is located on a property on the way to the deceased man's house. According to police, Sanju was driving the bike under the influence of alcohol and he may have lost control of the vehicle, hit the wall of the well, and fallen into it. The fire force arrived at the scene and retrieved the body. The body was later handed over to the relatives after postmortem at the medical college hospital, police said.
