Cong rally to mark 'success' of loan waiver

Hyderabad: The Congress is set to organise a large public meeting in Warangal , to be addressed by AICC leader Rahul Gandhi , in celebration of the successful implementation of the Congress govt’s promise to waive crop loans of up to Rs 1.2 lakh.

To date, over Rs 18,000 crore have been spent on the crop loan waiver , with an additional Rs 12,000 crore to be disbursed in the coming days. A door-to-door survey is currently being conducted by the govt to identify genuine farmers who may have missed out on the crop loan waiver, according to officials.tnn
