Kochi: A bomb threat email sent to deputy explosives commissioner's office triggered a security alert at Kendriya Bhavan in Kakkanad on Wednesday. The threat was received via email from an ID named Madras Tiger, which sent a similar threat to Kerala High Court on Tuesday.

Kendriya Bhavan houses several key central govt offices. As soon as the threat was received on Wednesday morning, it was reported to Infopark police station. The office, located on the third floor, was promptly inspected by police and CISF officials. Bomb detection and dog squads were deployed, but no explosives were found.

Police termed the threat as non-specific and classified it as a hoax. "We carried out a thorough inspection and found it to be a false alarm. Such threats are often made to gain attention," said a senior police officer.
