MMCH gets children's ward with 30 beds
Daltonganj: A children's ward with 30 beds has been opened on the third floor of MMCH Daltonganj.
City commissioner Md Jawed Husaain officially opened the children's ward on Friday alongside medical superintendent Dr Dharmendra Kumar, paediatric department head Vinita Nancy Khalkho, child specialist Dr Gaurav Vishal and other officials.
The facility includes a 10-bed paediatric intensive care unit (PICU).
Khalkho said the unit serves children aged 1 to 17 years with severe, life-threatening conditions.
This 10-bed PICU supplements the existing two SNCU wards, each containing 20 beds at Medinirai Medical College Hospital Daltonganj.
Medical superintendent Dr Dharmendra Kumar explained, "SNCU is for the newborns. PICU is for children upto 17 years of age."
Hospital officials said that mothers with children in paediatric intensive care unit will receive complimentary meals as provided to all indoor patients.
