Jamshedpur: It was a day of disappointment for some and jubilation for some as around 65 private English medium schools on Saturday declared results for admission to the 10,500 seats in the nursery and LKG classes for the 2025-26 academic session.

About 80,000 admission forms were submitted by the parents. The admissions will start from January 20.

The parents' anxiousness was palpable as they gathered on the respective campuses of the schools they have chosen for their children.

"I am happy as my son's name is there on the list," said Radha Singh, whose son got admission in the nursery class of Narbheram Hansraj English School, Bistupur.

The Kadma resident had applied for admission in two schools.

Jugsalai resident Govind Singh, who had applied for admission of his son in nursery at Loyola School Jamshedpur, was disappointed. "Will request the school management to give a chance to my son, if any seat falls vacant," he said.

The admission forms were issued in September. A lottery for the random selection of the candidates was held from January 4 to 17.

The schools will submit the list of the selected candidates, besides admissions through corporate quota, admission through school management, siblings and staff, to the district education department.

District education superintendent Ashish Kumar said, "The admissions through lottery have been held in a transparent manner. There's no complaint pertaining to the admission results."
