Transforming Education Landscape With Modern Learning in Jhakrhand
Ranchi: The Jharkhand govt has implemented multiple innovative models across the state to enhance quality of school education and bridge the urban-rural divide. These diverse educational institutions include the Chief Minister School of Excellence (CM SOE), Adarsh Vidyalaya, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV), Jharkhand Balika Awasiya Vidyalaya (JBAV), and the prestigious Netarhat Residential School.
While traditional residential institutions like KGBV and JBAV continue their mission of providing quality education to girls from marginalised backgrounds, modern initiatives such as CM SOE and Adarsh Vidyalayas are introducing contemporary educational approaches. The SOEs have adopted the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) curriculum, incorporating digital learning tools and interactive teaching methodologies to prepare students for future challenges.
The girl-centric institutions demonstrate impressive capacity and comprehensive facilities. KGBV accommodates 525 students with 75 students per class, while JBAV houses 350 girls with a more focused class strength of 50 students. Both institutions provide education from Class VI to Class XII. Beyond traditional academics, these schools offer a holistic development approach through vocational training, computer education, and educational excursions. The residential facilities include comfortable accommodation, nutritious meals, and complete study materials, with the institutions covering all daily living expenses for resident students.
The SOE initiative and Adarsh Vidyalaya (Model School) programmes represent the state's commitment to modern education infrastructure. These institutions are well-equipped with state-of-the-art facilities including libraries, laboratories, ICT centres, and sports complexes. With their trained faculty and active management committees, these schools emphasise comprehensive development, nurturing both academic excellence and extracurricular talents. The SOE network, comprising 80 institutions, offers approximately 12,000 seats from Class I to Class XII.
Netarhat Vidyalaya maintains its distinguished position in the state's educational landscape. The institution is known for its rigorous admission process, which includes comprehensive written examinations (both descriptive and objective), psychological evaluations, and personal interviews. Following the CBSE curriculum, the school provides education from Class VI to Class XII, emphasising discipline, academic excellence, and character building.
Education secretary Uma Shankar Singh highlighted the govt's commitment to modern education, saying, "Teachers are being trained regularly in modern pedagogical techniques, and digital content is being increasingly used to enhance classroom engagement." This initiative reflects the state's dedication to creating a robust and inclusive education system that caters to diverse student needs while maintaining high academic standards.
