One among three missing girls found

Kochi: One of the three minor girls who went missing from the Nirbhaya centre in Palakkad was traced to her house on Wednesday. Two 17- year-olds and one 14-year-old went missing around 10pm on Monday.

Palakkad Town South police registered a missing case based on CCTV footage. The girls managed to flee the centre without being noticed by security guards.

These girls had gone missing last week too. They were later traced and lodged at the Sakhi centre in the district after giving them counselling.

It is learned that the girls had expressed their willingness to go back home instead of staying at the govt-run Nirbhaya centre.

Police have formed special teams to trace the two other girls.

The investigating officers have got leads on where the girls might have reached.
