Man's suicide: Wife, her paramour and relatives denied bail
Vadodara: The Panchmahal sessions court denied bail to a woman, her mother, brothers and her paramour, who are accused of driving the woman's husband to suicide. The man ended his life on Nov 18 by hanging himself from a tree near a railway track. A video of the victim narrating his ordeal also surfaced.
The victim, Bharat Bamaniya (38), a resident of Mora village in Morva Hadaf taluka of Panchmahal district, hanged himself from a tree near Tuva village in Godhra taluka.
Before committing suicide, he called his brother, Vanraj Bamaniya. Vanraj later filed a case at Kakanpur police station, blaming Bharat's wife, Radhika, Radhika's mother, Ganga Pateliya, her brothers, Bhupat and Suresh Pateliya, and Radhika's paramour, Mahesh Thakore.
Bharat was married to Radhika, and they had two children. Radhika had an affair with Mahesh. When Bharat came to know of the affair, he approached Radhika's family with an audio recording of a conversation between Radhika and Mahesh.
Radhika's family instead threatened Bharat. Mahesh also threatened Bharat repeatedly and said that he had an affair with Radhika before she married Bharat. Mahesh even threatened to kill Bharat's children.
Mahesh even called the husband of Bharat's sister and abused him. Bharat ended his life by hanging himself. Kakanpur police arrested all five accused, who were later sent to judicial custody. The accused applied for regular bail. Additional district sessions judge P A Malaviya denied bail.
