Varanasi new DM and DC take charge
Varanasi: Newly appointed district magistrate of Varanasi, Satyendra Kumar, assumed office on Tuesday evening. After taking charge, he conducted a surprise inspection of the offices on the collectorate campus. He reviewed the arrangements and provided necessary instructions to the in-charge officers and desk assistants.
Kumar also heard public grievances and instructed officers concerned to resolve them in a timely and quality manner. Prior to this, he visited Kashi Vishwanath, Kaal Bhairav and Sankat Mohan temples in the city to offer prayers.
On Wednesday afternoon, outgoing district magistrate S Rajalingam, a 2009 batch IAS officer, took charge as the 69th divisional commissioner from his predecessor Kaushal Raj Sharma.
Sharma facilitated the handover of the divisional commissioner's office to him. They also inaugurated the new office building at the commissioner's office. After assuming charge, the new divisional commissioner introduced himself to his subordinate officers and employees and learned about their work in detail.
Sharma will soon join the office of the secretary at the Chief Minister's office in Lucknow.
