AIMPLB suspends Waqf stir to mourn Pahalgam victims
Vijayawada: The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has strongly condemned the terror attack on tourists in Pahalgam, in Jammu and Kashmir, and announced the suspension of its ongoing protests against the Waqf Amendment Act. The AIMPLB has declared three days of mourning to express solidarity with the bereaved families.
AIMPLB spokesperson for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Maulana Mufti Umar Abideen, stated that the board is deeply shocked and saddened by the incident. He emphasised that violence has no place in a democracy and extended heartfelt condolences to the families who lost their loved ones in the attack. "This gruesome incident is a failure of the security apparatus. We demand a swift investigation to ensure justice for the victims," he said.
Former MLA and YSRCP PAC member Hafeez Khan also condemned the attack, calling it deplorable that 28 innocent lives were lost and several others injured. "YSRCP will stand with the victim families. We extend our heart-felt condolences to the bereaved families," said Hafeez Khan.
