Govt appoints new vigilance commissioner
Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh govt issued orders appointing Anil Chandra Punetha, a retired IAS officer, as Vigilance Commissioner of the state. This appointment was formalised through a Government Order (GO) issued on Wednesday.
The order outlined the terms and conditions of his appointment. As Vigilance Commissioner, Punetha will hold a status equivalent to the chief secretary to the govt of Andhra Pradesh during his tenure.
Punetha's responsibilities will include statewide vigilance operations. The order emphasises that all expenses related to the post will be borne from the allocated budget of the Andhra Pradesh Vigilance Commission.
