If the year 2024 would be known for one thing, that would definitely be the box office clashes, be it Jigra versus Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, Stree 2 Vs Vedaa/Khel Khel Mein, Maidaan vs Bade Miyan Chote Miyan or the upcoming battle between Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.

But there is also one more clash waiting to explode, and that would be Vicky Kaushal, Dinesh Vijan and Laxman Utekar’s Chhava based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. The movie will be crossing swords with Sukumar, Allu Arjun, Fahadh Faasil and Rashmika Mandanna’s Pushpa: The Rule. Both films are currently slated to release on December 6th.

Between the two films, Pushpa was the late entrant for the 6th December date, as the film was earlier slated to release on 15th August weekend. But the film had to miss out on the date because shooting was incomplete. But now the shoot for the film has been reportedly complete, and the team is gearing up to complete the post production and edit on the film, to release the film on 6th.

In all the clashes this year, only Stree 2 has come out as a winner , while all others have failed to hit the mark.

Between Chhava and Pushpa, one could argue that as one is in Hindi and other in Telugu language, it would not be a major clash. But one would need to remember that Anil Thadani has paid almost Rs 200 crore for the North India theatrical rights of the film and he would be looking at the film getting far and wide release in Hindi belt. The first installment had gone on to mint over Rs 265 crore at the box office, out of which Rs 106 crore came from Hindi. The makers of Pushpa a few days ago, released a new poster of the film confirming 6th December as their release date.

Will the past record make Dinesh Vijan shift from his 6th release date or will he back his conviction and go ahead with the release of Chhava? For the record Dinesh has delivered two back to back superhits this year in Munjya and Stree 2. Only time will tell.
