Pakistan release pacer Hasan Ali from squad ahead of T20I series against England

Pakistan decided to releasedpace bowler Hasan Ali from its squad ahead of the first T20 international of the four-match series against England. This series will be followed by the T20 World Cup to be held in the US and the West Indies.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced that Hasan Ali was released because senior fast bowler Haris Rauf has regained match fitness. Hasan will now fulfill his commitments in English County cricket.

Initially, Hasan was included in the 18-member squad that toured Ireland and was then taken to England as cover for Haris, who had been recovering from a groin injury since February.

Hasan played in one of the T20 internationals in Ireland but conceded a significant number of runs.

Pakistan is the only team that has not yet announced its 15-member squad for the T20 World Cup.

Batters Agha Ali Salman and Irfan Niazi, currently in England, are expected to be named as traveling reserves for the tournament.

The Pakistan-England series is the last T20 commitment for both teams before the World Cup. All England players who participated in the IPL have returned from India for the four-match series.
