Abujmarh operation toll 2 as DRG jawan dies

A DRG jawan , who was among those injured in the fierce encounter with Maoists in Abujmarh Wednesday, died during treatment Thursday morning. This takes the toll of security personnel who died in the operation to eliminate Maoist chief Basavaraju to two.

Police said Ramesh Hemla, the DRG jawan from Bijapur who died Thursday, had suffered injuries in an IED blast.

Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai said state govt has "hammered the last nail in the coffin of Naxalism with the killing of Basavaraju". "For the first time in three decades, a Maoist of general secretary rank of the banned outfit has been neutralised."
