Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and India fast bowler Yash Dayal has been booked under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) following serious allegations of sexual harassment and exploitation. The FIR was filed at the Indirapuram police station in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, after a woman registered a complaint through the Chief Minister’s grievance portal (IGRS).

Section 69 of BNS Explained

Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita pertains to sexual acts obtained through deceitful promises, such as false assurances of marriage or employment. The law classifies such conduct as fraudulent and exploitative, punishable by up to 10 years of imprisonment.

Allegations Against Yash Dayal

According to the complainant, she was in a five-year relationship with Yash Dayal, during which he allegedly subjected her to mental, physical, and financial exploitation. She claimed that Dayal gained her trust by promising marriage, introducing her to his family, and living with her as if they were already married.

The woman further alleged that when she confronted Dayal about formalising the relationship, he turned violent and continued to harass her. She also stated that he borrowed money from her during their relationship and accused him of having a pattern of similar behaviour with other women.

The complainant has reportedly submitted chat transcripts, screenshots, video call recordings, and photographs as evidence to support her claims.

No Response from Dayal or Family Yet

As of now, Yash Dayal and his family have not issued any public statement regarding the allegations or the FIR. The investigation is currently underway, and authorities have yet to confirm whether formal questioning or arrest proceedings will follow.

Dayal’s Cricket Career

Yash Dayal was a key performer for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL 2025 season, where he played a crucial role in the franchise's first-ever IPL title win. He picked up 13 wickets during the tournament and impressed with his performances in pressure situations, particularly during the death overs.

In 2024, Dayal also received his maiden India call-up for a home series against Bangladesh, although he has not yet made his international debut.

The case against Yash Dayal is currently under investigation, and the legal process is in its early stages. As one of the rising fast bowlers in Indian cricket, the allegations have drawn significant public attention. Authorities will now determine the validity of the claims and whether charges will proceed under the provisions of the BNS.
