ICC Under-19s Women's T20 World Cup 2025: Genevieve Morrissey added to Ireland squad
Clontarf all-rounder Genevieve Morrissey has been added to the Ireland Under-19s Women’s squad for the in Malaysia which starts on January 18.
Morrissey was initially listed as a travelling reserve for Ireland Under-19s Women but has now been added as a replacement for Aimee Maguire, with this move officially approved by the Event Technical Committee of the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2025.
Albert van der Merwe, National Talent Pathway Manager & Coach, said: “The last number of weeks have been disruptive for the squad with forced changes, but Glenn Querl’s squad is resilient, and they had a very productive training camp in Dubai. The players that have come into the squad will get a great chance to experience a world event and push their games forward.
“Although always unfortunate to replace a squad member at a world cup, this also represents a big opportunity for Genevieve Morrissey who we believe will do her teammates, club and family proud at the event.”
