Prayagraj: Former President Ram Nath Kovind on Tuesday said the One Nation One Election proposal would prove to be a game changer in the economic development of the country.

"This will greatly improve the GDP of the country," he said after taking a holy dip in Sangam.

He was accompanied by his wife and daughter and UP industrial development minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi.

The former president, who is chairman of the committee overseeing the proposal for simultaneous polls, also praised Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for the meticulous planning and arrangements of the grand and divine Maha Kumbh.

After taking dip, the former President and his family offered prayers at the Sangam and later inaugurated Nandi Seva Sansthan camp in sector 24 of the mela area. Earlier, Nandi welcomed Kovind on behalf of the state govt at the VIP Ghat of the Sangam area.

Nandi also welcomed poet Kumar Vishwas at the VIP Ghat.

Vishwas took a dip in Sangam along with Nandi and said, ‘Ye Ganga ka kinara hai, Ye Ganga ka kinara hai...' and read the lines describing the greatness of Ganga.

He said this coincidence has happened after 144 years and that this spiritual consciousness and vibe of Maha Kumbh will pave the way for India to become the world leader.

Vishwas also said all parties must stop politics and take a dip in Sangam at the ongoing Maha Kumbh.
