Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the EQG 580, the electric version of its iconic G-Class , in India. Priced at ₹3 crore (ex-showroom), this limited-edition SUV combines classic design elements with cutting-edge electric technology. Offering high performance, the EQG is not just a future-ready luxury vehicle; it’s a revolutionary step forward in sustainable off-road adventure.

Design: Iconic Looks, Enhanced Aerodynamics
The EQG 580 retains the rugged appeal of the G-Class, with a few modern tweaks to boost its aerodynamics. A sleek, closed-off panel with illuminated accents gives it an electric identity while maintaining the signature G-Class look, highlighted by the bold Mercedes-Benz emblem.

Key aerodynamic updates include a raised bonnet, rear air curtains, and a modified A-pillar, improving its drag coefficient to 0.44, better than the G 450d's 0.48Cd. The side profile features redesigned alloy wheels and the rear sports either a tailgate-mounted spare wheel or a storage box for accessories.

Powered by a 116 kWh battery, the EQG 580 offers a range of 473 km on a single charge, with the ability to recharge to 80% in just 32 minutes using a 200 kW charger.
