A tragic incident unfolded during a screening of Pushpa 2: The Rule in Rayadurgam on Monday, December 9, when another fan of Allu Arjun died inside the theatre. The deceased, identified as 35-year-old Harijana Madhannapp , was found dead by the cleaning staff around 6 pm after attending the film's 2:30 pm matinee show. Kalyandurgam's Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Ravi Babu, confirmed the details in an interview with PTI, stating that the exact time of death is unclear, but the body was discovered after the show had concluded.

The DSP also revealed that Madhannapp, a father of four, had a history of alcohol addiction and was reportedly intoxicated during the screening. He is believed to have consumed more alcohol while inside the theatre. A case has been filed under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Act, and investigations are underway.

This tragic event follows another incident during the Pushpa 2 screening at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad, where a woman lost her life in a stampede caused by overcrowding during a visit by Allu Arjun and music director Devi Sri Prasad. The stampede, triggered by the crowd’s excitement, led to the collapse of the theatre’s main gate, which resulted in the woman’s death and injuries to her young son.

Allu Arjun, deeply moved by the incident, extended his heartfelt condolences to the grieving family and pledged to meet them personally. He also donated Rs 25 lakh to the family to assist them during this difficult time.

Pushpa 2: The Rule, one of the year’s most anticipated films, has been receiving an overwhelming response, grossing over Rs 600 crore at the Indian box office.
