When you’re employed, your salary isn't just a paycheck—it comes with various benefits, one of which is the Provident Fund (PF). Along with your monthly salary, a portion of your earnings is deducted and deposited into your PF account , with a matching contribution from your employer. This fund also earns interest, making it a valuable financial asset. However, to ensure your loved ones can access these funds in the event of your passing, it's crucial to nominate a beneficiary. If you haven’t yet added a nominee to your PF account, follow this step-by-step guide to do so.
How to Add a Nominee to Your PF Account:
Step 1: Access the EPFO Portal
If you haven't added a nominee yet, start by visiting the official EPFO website at epfindia.gov.in. Once on the site, you’ll find various options to choose from.
Step 2: Navigate to the Employee Services Section
Next, click on the 'Services' section and then select the 'For Employees' option. Log in using your UAN number, password, and captcha code.
Step 3: Manage Your Nomination Details
After logging in, go to the 'Manage' tab and select 'e-Nomination'. Then, under the 'Provide Details' tab, click 'Save'. To update your family declaration, click 'Yes'. You can now add your family details and select a nominee.
Step 4: Complete the Nomination Process
Once you've added the necessary details, click on 'Nomination Details' and then 'Save EPF Nomination'. Choose the 'E-Sign' option to electronically sign the nomination. You’ll receive an OTP on your registered mobile number. Enter the OTP, click 'Submit', and your nominee will be added.
