Indian pace sensation Jasprit Bumrah delivered a sensational performance on Sunday (December 15), dominating the second day of the third Test against Australia at The Gabba, Brisbane. The 31-year-old fast bowler claimed five wickets for 72 runs in 25 overs, marking his 12th five-wicket haul in Test cricket. With this achievement, Bumrah surpassed Indian legends Zaheer Khan and Ishant Sharma, both of whom have 11 five-wicket hauls in the format.

Bumrah’s spell began with the dismissal of Usman Khawaja (21), caught behind by wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant during the morning session. He followed it up in his next over by sending Nathan McSweeney (9) back to the pavilion. His third scalp came in the form of Steve Smith, who was dismissed for a well-made 101. Bumrah’s brilliance continued as he claimed two wickets—Mitchell Marsh (5) and Travis Head (152)—in the same over, showcasing his versatility and control.
