Instagram has introduced a new feature allowing users to enhance their Reels with multiple audio tracks . The social media platform announced that users can now add up to 20 different tracks in a single Reel, enabling them to synchronize elements like text, clips, and stickers to match their creative vision.

Meta , the parent company of Instagram, also highlighted that the final combined audio track will be credited to the creator, allowing others to reuse the distinctive mix. This new feature eliminates the need for third-party applications to merge multiple audio tracks before uploading them to Instagram.

How to Add Multiple Audio Tracks to an Instagram Reel

  • Open the Instagram app on your phone and navigate to the Reels section.
  • Record your Reel using the camera or select an existing video and tap the ‘Next’ button in the bottom right corner.
  • Tap the ‘Edit video’ button and select ‘Add audio’ from the bottom menu.
  • Choose your desired audio track and place it at the specific part of the Reel where you want it to play.
  • To add more audio tracks, tap the ‘Add audio’ button again.
  • Remember, you can overlap these tracks and adjust their positions by tapping on the track name.
  • Once you are satisfied with your edits, tap the top right arrow button to share your Reel on Instagram.

  • With this new feature, Instagram aims to boost the creativity of its users by allowing more intricate audio combinations in Reels. Over the past few months, Instagram has been rolling out several updates to Reels and Stories. According to company CEO Adam Mosseri, the focus is shifting away from long-form content to enhance short-form video experiences.
