Paytm, one of India’s most popular digital payment platforms, has introduced an easy and secure method for setting up a Unified Payments Interface (UPI) PIN using Aadhaar. This new feature eliminates the need for a debit card, making it especially convenient for users who don’t have their debit cards on hand. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you set up your UPI PIN on Paytm using Aadhaar details.
Step 1: Open the Paytm App and Access UPI Settings
- Launch the Paytm app on your smartphone.
- Tap on the profile icon located in the top-left corner of the screen.
- Navigate to the 'UPI & Payment Settings' section under your profile.
- This will open a page where you can manage all the UPI settings linked to your Paytm account.
Step 2: Select the Bank Account
- On the UPI settings page, you’ll find a list of all the bank accounts linked to your Paytm account.
- Choose the bank account for which you want to set a UPI PIN.
- Once selected, tap on the 'Set PIN' option to proceed with creating your UPI PIN.
Step 3: Enter Aadhaar and OTP Details
- From the available options, select 'Aadhaar Card' as your verification method.
- Enter the first six digits of your Aadhaar number in the designated field.
- Provide the 6-digit Aadhaar OTP sent to your registered mobile number.
- Additionally, enter the 6-digit OTP sent by your bank to verify your account.
Step 4: Set Up Your UPI PIN
- After successfully verifying both the Aadhaar OTP and the bank OTP, you’ll be prompted to set a 6-digit UPI PIN.
- Choose a PIN that is secure and easy for you to remember but difficult for others to guess.
- Confirm the UPI PIN by entering it again to complete the setup process.
