The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has unveiled a game-changing feature known as UPI Circle , allowing users to share their UPI accounts with trusted individuals. This innovation, greenlit on August 3, 2023, during the UPI Steering Committee meeting, aims to make digital payments more accessible for those who require assistance with financial transactions .
What is UPI Circle ?
UPI Circle is a new feature designed for those who need digital payment capabilities without managing finances directly. It enables primary users to grant access to secondary users, allowing them to perform transactions on behalf of the primary account holder.
# Types of Delegation:
Full Delegation: The secondary user can conduct transactions within preset limits without needing further approval from the primary user. This mode provides a seamless payment experience for regular transactions.
Partial Delegation: Here, the secondary user can initiate transactions but must obtain approval from the primary user, who finalizes the payment with their UPI PIN. This method offers increased oversight for larger transactions.

Primary users can set transaction limits for secondary users. Under the full delegation model, secondary users can spend up to Rs 15,000 per month, with individual transactions capped at Rs 5,000, as per NPCI guidelines.
