57 fires on Diwali, 2 trucks charred
Gurgaon: Firefighters attended to 57 incidents of fire on Diwali night. There was, however, no major case of fire or injuries.
Two impounded trucks parked at the police lines in Naurangpur were damaged in a fire incident.
Another fire broke out at a scrap godown in Kakrola that stored old mattresses and plastic items. Fire incidents were reported from a roadside eatery near Khandewla in Farrukhnagar, a garbage fire at a graveyard in Heli Mandi, Sector 6 in IMT Manesar, and a paddy straw fire at a plot in Mumtajpur village in Pataudi during the early hours of Thursday. Sector 29 station fire officer Rameshwar mentioned that their team attended around 17 fire incidents on Diwali night.
"More than 200 staff from seven fire stations remained on high alert," said Haryana fire services' deputy director (technical), Gulshan Kalra.TNN
