Logan Paul owned Prime Hydration sued by U.S. Olympic legal committee

WWE athlete and social media icon Logan Paul has seen his fair share of controversies over the years. However, the latest one involving his energy drink Prime Hydration might have the most severe effect of them all.

As reported by the New York Times, the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee has sued Prime, alleging that the company has been using official words related to the Olympics without permission, specifically the terms "Olympic," "Going for Gold," and "Team USA."

However, the company continued to sell the drinks, and even featured them on social media.

The drink in question is the flavor that is sponsored by Kevin Durant , an Olympic Gold Medallist. To describe his accomplishments, the drink uses the terms mentioned above, on its label. This is why the U.S. Olympic Committee is accusing Prime of copyright infringement and is seeking damages worth millions of dollars along with all profits made from the sales of those drinks in particular.

It’s believed that this lawsuit also stems from the fact that Coca-Cola paid a lot of money to get the exclusive rights to the Olympic branding. Since Prime is using the terms mentioned above, it’s harming the rights that Coca-Cola purchased to a certain extent and could also have a detrimental effect on future Olympic branding partnerships too.

Founded in 2022, the company is no stranger to controversies at this point. Not only have they been accused of having large doses of caffeine in their drinks meant for children, there are claims that suggest Prime drinks have dangerous chemical substances like PSAF in the bottles that they use.

As of now, it’s unclear which direction the lawsuit will take, the way the entire lawsuit is framed, things might not be looking good for Prime at this point in time.
