CBSE: CBSE will not announce the merit list, topper list will also not be released; Know what is the update on the date sheet..
CBSE: CBSE will not release the merit list and division-wise marks of students for the board exams. Following the previous trend, the board will also not announce the list of toppers and division of students. Students appearing for the CBSE board exams 2025 will have to score a minimum of 33 percent marks to pass the exam. Candidates will have to pass each subject individually as well as score 33 percent marks overall.
No division or distinction among students too
The board has not been announcing the merit list for the past few years. The decision is aimed at avoiding 'unhealthy competition' among students. The decision to not release the merit list for board results was first taken during the pandemic-induced lockdown when the results of students were prepared using the marks obtained in online exams. This year the board will also not give any division or distinction to students.
News of syllabus reduction dismissed
The CBSE has also released a notification warning students and teachers about fake news circulating on social media regarding board exams 2025. Refuting reports citing a 15 percent reduction in the syllabus for board exams 2025 and conducting open book exams, the CBSE said that there is no change in the exam pattern for the upcoming year.
The datasheet expected by the first week of December
The board will release the date sheet soon. Usually, the board announces the exam dates by the end of November, or else by the first or second week of December. As per previous trends, the 2025 board exams for classes 10 and 12 are expected to begin on February 15, 2025. However, the board has not released any official notification in this regard yet, the exam date is being estimated based on the earlier notification by the CBSE.
