Big B Simultaneously Shot for THESE 2 Films in Separate Shifts; Both Became Superhits
Amitabh Bachchan may be 82 but he is showing no signs of slowing down. In fact, last year he even explored the Telugu and Tamil film industries by starring in Kalki 2898 AD and Vettaiyan. The man has a strong work ethic and has never slacked off when it comes to effort. No wonder he has given us some brilliant performances in a career spanning over five decades.
But one important revelation made by Big B’s son Abhishek left fans in awe of the man. He once revealed that he was shooting for two films at the same time in different shifts at different locations. This was in the 1970s when he was in his prime. Both films turned out to be big hits and elevated him as a star.

The two films he was referring to are cult classics now and still very popular among the masses. We are speaking of Deewaar and Sholay which both released in 1975. They were superhits and gave Big B superstar status in Bollywood. Fifty years later, they are watched with the same enthusiasm as when they were released.
"I was doing double shifts early in my career, and I was tired one day, and went home early in the morning. He was having his breakfast, ready to leave. He said, ‘How was it?’ I said I was very tired. Very casually, he said, ‘We used to do a lot of this. I was shooting Sholay about an hour’s drive from Bengaluru, where the Ramgarh set was. We would shoot all day, I would pack up, take an hour’s drive to Bengaluru airport, take a flight to Mumbai, and go straight to Ballard Pier, where we were shooting the climax of Deewaar. I would shoot all night, come back home, take a shot of adrenaline, fly back to Bengaluru the next morning, and shoot all day'. He did this for a month," Abhishek revealed while speaking to Galatta Plus Hindi

Deewaar was made on a budget of Rs. 1.3 crore and earned Rs. 7 crore at the box office. Sholay was made for around Rs. 3 crore and raked in Rs. 35 crore. These two blockbusters made Big B a superstar and would pave the way for further success over the next decade.
No Sign of StoppingBig B turns 83 this year but don’t expect him to stop making films. He has entertained us for decades and he is far from done. We shall next see him in Ramayana: Part 1
