After plunging significantly last week, funding momentum across the Indian startup ecosystem gained footing in the final week of June. Between June 23 and 28, startups raised $278.3 Mn across 22 deals, nearly 3X of the $91.5 Mn raised by ten startups in the preceding week.

Key Startup Funding Highlights Of The Week

  • Defencetech took the front seat in the Indian startup funding this week, with four advanced hardware and tech startups raising $113.5 Mn. In this, dronetech startup Raphe mPhibr raised a mega funding round of $100 Mn at a valuation of $900 Mn.
  • Ecommerce sector saw a similar number of four deals materialise this week, with four startups raising $68 Mn.
  • VC firms Accel and DSG Consumer Partners emerged as the most active investors this week, backing two startups each.
  • Five startups at the seed stage bagged $27.8 Mn this week, marking an over 8X jump from the $3.5 Mn raised by startups at this stage last week.
Startup IPO Developments This Week
  • Fintech major Pine Labs filed for its much anticipated IPO this week. The startup’s IPO will comprise a fresh issue of INR 2,600 Cr and an offer for sale of up to 14.78 Cr shares.
  • Wakefit filed its DRHP for an IPO that will comprise a fresh issue of INR 468 Cr and an OFS component of 5.8 Cr equity shares.
  • PhonePe will likely file for a $1.5 Bn IPO by August. The fintech major will be eyeing a valuation of $15 Bn for its public offering.
  • Logistics unicorn Shadowfax is likely to take the confidential routeto file its DRHP next month.
  • B2B construction marketplace ArisInfra made itspublic market debut this week, listing at a 6% discount on the BSE at INR 209.
Other Developments This Week
  • Coworking space provider Incuspaze acquired Pune-based competitor TRIOS in a cash-and-stock deal to expand its presence in Pune.
  • PE firm Amicus Capital marked thefinal close of its second fund at $214 Mn, exceeding its initial target of $200 Mn.
  • Nazara’s subsidiary Sportskeeda signed an asset purchaseagreement to acquire the intellectual property rights (IPR) of US-based Prime Timer for $500K.
  • VC firm Campus Fund launched its third and largest fund till date with a target corpus of $100 Mn.
