If you are planning to go on the Char Dham Yatra, keep these things in mind
The Char Dham Yatra not only gives a spiritual experience but also gives a chance to enjoy the natural beauty. But during the Char Dham Yatra, it is important to keep some things in mind, so that there is no hindrance in your journey.
The Char Dham Yatra includes four holy pilgrimage sites located in the Himalayas of Uttarakhand, Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri Dham. This journey is important both in terms of tourism and religion. These four pilgrimage sites are dedicated to different gods and goddesses. Most of the journey involves trekking. In the year 2025, the Char Dham Yatra is going to start from 30 April. Every year thousands of devotees go to visit the Char Dham, so that they can get spiritual peace and God's blessings.
But the Char Dham Yatra is not only related to faith, but it also includes many physical and mental challenges. Due to difficult mountain paths, weather and going to heights, people can sometimes have health problems. In such a situation, if you are also planning to go on Char Dham Yatra, then it is very important to keep some important things in mind.
Keep these things in mind before going on the journey
1. Choose the right time for the journey
Char Dham Yatra starts every year in the summer season from April to May and continues from August to October, because in the rest of the months these areas remain closed due to heavy snowfall. May-June and September are considered the best months for the journey, because during this time the weather is good and there is not much snowfall.
2. Get the necessary documents and registration done
Registration has been made mandatory by the Uttarakhand government for Char Dham Yatra. Travel is not allowed without registration. You can do this registration both online and offline. Also, keep your Aadhar card, travel permit, medical certificate and other identity cards with you.
3. Get a health checkup
In most places of Char Dham Yatra, the altitude is more than 10,000 feet, due to which many people may suffer from high altitude sickness (difficulty breathing at high altitude), cold related problems and fatigue. Therefore, before the journey, get a health checkup done by a doctor, especially if you have blood pressure, diabetes, asthma or any heart related problem.
4. Pack the right clothes and luggage
Char Dham Yatra experiences cold and snowfall, so keep clothes and luggage according to the weather with you. Which includes warm clothes, waterproof jackets and raincoats, high grip shoes (for long journeys and trekking), sunglasses and sunscreen and first aid kit.
5. Take care of your food and drink
Due to altitude and cold, many times people feel vomiting, dizziness and weakness. Therefore, it is very important to take care of your diet. In such a situation, eat light and easily digestible food. Drink as much water as possible, so that the body remains hydrated. Give priority to soup and herbal tea instead of tea and coffee. Keep dry fruits and chocolates with you to maintain energy.
6. Keep getting weather and travel updates
The weather of Uttarakhand changes very quickly, so keep getting information about the weather before traveling. For this, keep an eye on the official website of the Uttarakhand government or news updates.
