It is worth noting that Pakistan had to face defeat by 60 runs at the hands of New Zealand in the Champions Trophy match played in Karachi. After being invited to bat first, New Zealand scored 320 runs for the loss of 5 wickets thanks to centuries from Tom Latham (118 not out) and Will Young (107 runs). In response, Pakistan's team was reduced to 260 runs in 47.2 overs, in which Khushdil Shah (69 runs) and Babar Azam (64) were the top scorers.
Pakistan will have to win against India at all costs to remain in the semi-final race.
