An American has tried a full English breakfast and one item in particular has stunned him.

Expecting very little from the classic fry-up, user @kalanighosthunter took to Swindon and put the staple dish to the test. In trying the essentials of the , including black pudding, beans and hash browns, the ghost hunter and foodie stumbled on some food items he was stunned by.

Heading to Blues Café in Swindon on his first trip to the UK, the TikTok star was served eggs both fried and scrambled, mushrooms, sausages, toast, black pudding, bacon, beans, tomatoes and, controversially, onion rings. His taste test started with black pudding, which did not quite impress the American. He said: "Not my absolute favourite by any means, it's not bad, but I feel like it's just - I don't know, it's just not my favourite."

He moved on to the sausages, which settled much better for the foodie. He said: "That's tasty, but something I've learned here. Brown sauce needs to just go all over."

He also piled the beans on top of the slice of toast, and was left pleasantly surprised. He said: "I did not know I was going to like beans on toast, but this is delicious. The flavour pairing is really good on that."

Moving on to the bacon - a "big difference" between UK and US cooking styles - the TikTok star was impressed, but said he preferred his homeland's counterpart. "This is a lot different than the US but I really like this one. I won't say I like it better than my US bacon. I like the crispy bacon at home. This has a lot of really good flavour.

"Dipping it in the egg yolk, that might be a crime over here but man I love it. I don't know if it's a sin over here but I love combining different things on the plate." Comments left on his now viral TikTok, which has pulled in over 92,000 likes, steered the star in the right direction and confirmed there was nothing wrong with mixing and matching the breakfast items.

One user wrote: "Dipping in the egg yolk is a common custom you're good." Another user stunned by the onion rings added: "In all my British life I have never seen onion rings on a full English." A third added: "Onion rings on a full English? That's just wrong."
